5 Tips To Have Glorious Hair

May 13th, 2011

Your crowning glory is your hair. Look after it well so that you can show it off to the world. You don’t always need expensive treatments, or visits to a hair salon to manage your hair professionally. You can do a lot yourself.

You need to first think of your body’s intake in order to have shiny and healthy hair. A reflection of what you are inside is your hair. A good balanced, nutritious and healthy diet will do more to make your hair shine than any shampoo or conditioner. Hair is 25% water, so drink 8-10 glasses of water a day so it won’t get thirsty.

Dry your hair after washing in the ambient temperature of your room after using an absorbent towel to soak up the excess moisture, but don’t rub hard. If possible, don’t use blow-drying, flat irons, curling irons or hot rollers. Using artificial heating will damage your hair and leave it brittle. If possible, be natural.

By using the right kind of hairbrush, you can prevent unnecessary damage. Avoid touching the root and comb wet hair using a wide-tooth comb and comb it from end to root. Detangling wet hair with a hard steel comb can create a lot of damage, so don’t.

Remove trichoptlosis, or split ends, like this: take small sections of your hair and carefully twist them in a gentle downward motion. The split ends will stick out. Using sharp scissors, carefully cut into the twisted section, but not right through, to remove the damaged cuticles and leave a natural layered look. By roughly cutting the same amount from each twist, you will be able to balance the effect.

You can slow down or reverse hair loss if you apply a few simple tips but they may not be able to cure an underlying condition. Hair follicles can be regenerated with the help of biotin and to do this, blend honey, bananas, low-fat milk, and yogurt and drink it daily. Also helpful are supplements like Vitamin B6, saw palmetto, and zinc, as well as getting plenty of sleep and getting rid of stress.

We are all obsessed with our hair, whether we are 9 or 90, male or female. What you need to do is look after yourself first and that care and attention will be reflected by your hair.
