How To Find Your Ideal Running Shoe

January 18th, 2011

If you are like most people then the main way you choose a shoe is on its appearance. This obviously makes sense as with most clothing you want to look good as a priority. However, unlike clothing the shoes you wear are a lot more important to your physical well being and can affect you in ways that you may never have even imagined.

Believe me I know. At one point I noticed my work shoes were all wearing away at the heel on a weird angle. It turns out that my trainers were shot and my overcompensating on the treadmill was affecting my natural walk!

So how do you avoid the same problem? In order to avoid this the best bet is to frequent a quality shoe store that actually knows their product and can recommend shoes depending on your current needs. You will need to know how often you plan on running, on what terrain and your style of running. The consultant will then be able to give you an idea of the type of shoe you will need.

Based on all of this information I was given a selection to choose from. It was incredible.

When you have an idea of the sort of shoes that you should be wearing then you can start to actually wear the shoes and see how they feel. This is to do the obvious and get the right size, but also to ensure that the brand is right for you. Each brand as slight differences in width, length and padding in a shoe and any of these factors can make a great shoe for one person bad for you.

Using this info you can then either buy the suggested shoes or use the information that you have just heard to locate the identical shoes at a greater price, or alternatively search out a different shoe that can provide identical benefits elsewhere.

Prior to buying any running shoe look into Fox Shoes as one of the top brands in sporting shoes and Fox Apparel
