July 22nd, 2011

As one of the most influential people in fashion, Karl Lagerfeld has decided to take his creations to Macy’s, a popular American high street store. The designer has previously collaborated with brands such as H&M, Diesel, and even Coca Cola, explaining that he loves “occasional co-branding.”

“The collaboration is a kind of test how to do this kind of clothes in that price range.” says Lagerfeld, “Macy’s is the perfect department store in the US, where everybody can find what they’re looking for without ruining their budget.”

The collection will consist of around 45 limited edition styles, featuring statement jackets and the ever famous Chanel tweed. The line will also include a wide selection of dresses, with styles ranging from soft and feminine to a more masculine silhouette – giving a nod to one of this season’s most popular trends.

“There’s a contemporary spin on his signature aesthetic, with versatile, easy-to-wear pieces with a modern twist,” said Macy’s group vice president and fashion director, Nicole Fischelis. ”His passion and creative genius are deeply reflected in this collection, highlighting his ever evolving perspective to the fashion customer.”

Lagerfeld’s creations will be available in stores from August 31st, with prices starting from as little as .
