Forget colours – this season it’s all about metallics. As seen all over the runway over the past few seasons, it’s should come as no news to anyone that silvers, bronzes and golds are going to be a huge hit for the holiday season, which top high street stores such as Topshop, Zara and ASOS all following suit.
We’ve chosen our favourite metallic pieces from the high street – here’s how to wear them.
The metallic trouser is a statement piece all on it’s own, which means it requires very only simple basics to complete the look. For a night out, pair the trousers (found at Zara and Asos.com) with a gigantic set of patent black heels to really elongate the legs, and let the trousers do the talking with a simple black tank thrown over the top. To really bring your look on trend, try wrapping a simplistic silver choker around your neck, tucking sections of hair in as you go. See below for inspiration.
Again, similar to the trousers, this metallic jumper dress needs very little accessorizing. If you’re feeling self conscious about the length of the dress, slip on a neutral coloured skirt or pair of shorts and pair them with a set of loafers to incorporate the masculine trend into your look.
Not forgetting the feminine side of metallics, Zara have designed a range of metallic miniskirts that come in a selection of bronze and gold tones. To create the perfect summer look, take inspiration from Zara’s lookbook and opt for a set of metallic bronze gladiator flats and a romantic white shirt, slightly tucked in at the waist.
